From terrie at mailman.japaninc.com Tue Apr 29 14:52:58 2025 From: terrie at mailman.japaninc.com (Terrie's Take) Date: Tue, 29 Apr 2025 17:52:58 +1200 Subject: Terrie's Take 994 - Is Now Live On Substack Message-ID: Yes, Terrie's Take is stirring into life again, and I'm back in the saddle business-wise. Firstly, my sincere thanks to all the folks who have been receiving my newsletters via email from our very own Mailman server. This has worked so well for many years, although every year Google makes it more and more difficult to not be identified as spam. In the last 3 years, I've been relying more on Linked In to reach my audience, but Microsoft is doing what Microsoft does, and recently started throttling text posts to less than 10% of the original organic reach. Hell, I can go back to email and get 7x more reach than using Linked Inc. So, in my quest for the perfect platform, I've followed many others to Substack. Seems like a competent and well designed system, and I'm hoping this will be home for the Take for a while. Secondly, the actual post. So the first newsletter for Terrie's Take for 2025, is about whether the inbound travel industry in Japan will stay buoyant for 2025 and 2026. Generally I'm pretty upbeat, but I also identify the likely warning signs if there is going to be a downturn. Japan could wind up playing the role of the go-to travel destination while the rest of the world is looking unsafe, expensive, and just a bit boring. The newsletter is here. Please subscribe while you are there. https://telloyd.substack.com/p/tt-994-inbound-travel-sector-outlook Oh, I also announced that our recently established traditional homes renovation business, www.akiya2.com, is now doing its first fundraise. Feel free to message me directly if you want to know more. >From the Desk of Terrie Lloyd
